The Split:

WALT we are learning to right descriptive pieces of writing: The split: Story Starter - A descriptive writing / a moment in time. She had been standing there for hours, surrounded by ice. As the sun peeped its head over the distant mountains on the horizon, an orange and yellow hue filled the sky. The warmth of the sun was a gesture of kindness to her frozen hands, which she clasped together in front of her trembling body. It was then that she heard it… Crack! It was as if the world in front of her was breaking in two… Then and there she could see the Ice cracking, breaking, snapping like a cookie. Then a black crater opened and started sucking all the water into its colossal mouth. ARGHHHH the girl screamed. The Owl:

WALT: We are learning to write descriptive pieces of writing His coal-black pupils, and an island set in a sea of molten gold, stared straight ahead of him. As he broke out into a run, his needle-like talons made a sharp, scraping sound against the lichen-covered rocks beneath him. The wind gusting behind him would be beneficial as he took his leap of faith off the cliff top. It was always a risky business, but when an opportune moment like this came around, he had to make it count. I loved writing this story because an owl is my favourite animal what your favourite animal ?

Trapped:

WALT: We are learning to write descriptive pieces of writing The heavy door of the cage swung shut and the iron bars echoed fiercely around. Menacing ravens circled around, their eyes transfixed on the trapped prisoner. How did she end up in this position? There was nobody around to help her. Barren land stretched as far as the eye could see. If she was to escape, she had to do it herself. Would you rather write or draw ?
